Legislators who would refuse others the exercise of the right to defend themselves have earned the same lack of consideration.

The hypocrites should have the same opportunity, to bleed to death while awaiting the arrival of emergency medical personnel, that they foist upon the general public.

I predict the streets of Sacramento will run red with blood.

...Speaker Perez nixed the deal. I feel safer already.

Follow up from Capitol Alert: http://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalertlatest/2011/04/perez-asks-seargant-to-revoke.html

"The Speaker does not believe that members should bring weapons into the Capitol because the job of protecting the men and women who visit and work in the Capitol is best left to the well trained professionals in the Sergeant's office and the California Highway Patrol."

So it's the responsibility of the State and not a personal responsibility? Whew! Nice to know help is just a phone call away!

Jim

That's the anti gun mindset-- scary huh?

Of course "peace officers" are exempt, because we know they never commit a gun crime.

No, goof, while I don't disagree with your philosophy, peace officers are exempt because without the exemption CHP couldn't do their job.

Peace Officers are exempt from most firearms laws - at least where I live.
