LCAV dinner tonight in San Francisco
Legal Community Against Violence, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Joyce Foundation, is having a fancy dinner tonight, and CalGuns is planning some mischief. Read about 2/3 of the way down to see the plans beginning.

Some of the ideas are really good and creative. I like the bar napkin idea. Others of their ideas are just going to make gun activists look like jackasses, and may even be vandalism, like slapping stickers on people's cars.
Oh, boy. I hope they have a good criminal defense lawyer lined up and ready to work tonight. Fair or not, me thinks that some one may get arrested. Or maybe "someones."
Sebastian - you're welcome to make suggestions.
My suggestion is that they just leave them alone to quitely die on the vine. Joyce zero funded the operation out of Ohio State University and Brady has put its donor list up for sale. Smaller gun control groups have been consolidating at the State levels just to remain relevant in size.
If you read the latest reports, it was all a wild goose chase, they never intended to show up, but it was obvious that LCAV was watching their discussion forums because they had LOTS of police and security on hand. Of course, one questions whether those police were there on taxpayer dollars or were offduty?
Okay, now THAT was funny!
One Calgunner said it best:
"OK, a group of antigun lawyers gets spooked
because people here talk about a peaceful
protest at their event.
So what do they do? They call other people
with guns to come there."

Where is Ken Kesey when you need him? Quite a prank.
"We are important, because we can afford to pay for protection. The rest of you are not important, because you can't."
Be careful folks, the gun ban movement isn't dead just yet. Sure the Brady bunch and the VPC are mere zombies shuffling along on fumes these days, but LCAV and MAIG are still flush and aggressive.
LCAV is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Toobin, a senior legal analyst for CNN Worldwide and a staff writer for The New Yorker, will deliver the keynote address for our 17th Anniversary Dinner on July 14, 2010.
Mr. Toobin is a journalist and bestselling author with unparalleled expertise on politics, media, and the law; he is also a former Assistant U.S. Attorney.
I would think just asking Mr. Toobin what direction LCAV should take in light of the McDonald decision holding the 2nd Amendment as fundamental would more than enough to start a fight. The wrong answer leads them into being classified as a hate-group, but I suspect they're too smart to be that rash.
