Funny read, from the Chi Tribune

Posted by David Hardy · 17 June 2010 09:37 AM

It asks what gun laws Chicago should adopt if its ban is stricken. The "model gun laws" listed are worth a good laugh.

How about none of the above

Not included in the list of options:
The City and State simply obeying the law of the land.
That sort of thing never crosses the Tribune's collective mind.

The author is threatening to sic the Chicago PD on commenters. What a woman.

What is so confusing about the word "uninfringed"? Seems like a simple word to me.

A couple of those are already the law pretty much universally.

Illegal to shoot in city limits? Yes, almost everywhere (with the caveat that self defence is a positive defense).

No ammo for gang criminals? Well, being that pretty much anything that is described as "gang crime" is a felony, and felons are already forbidden from owning (touching, fondling) even spent brass let alone live ammo, yep... already there.

I'm pretty sure SCOTUS isn't going to change either of these, at least this time around. Maybe in the future the whole spent-brass-felon thing might go away because it makes no sence, but not anytime soon.

Yes, I know, just because something is already illegal doesn't mean the anti-gun fanatics aren't going to try to make it even illegaler.
