And they said it could never happen here...

You know where the guns are? If, IF, they were turned over to the N.O. police (which is nowhere near a certainty), the N.O. police stole them.

In an more nearly ideal world, the criminals involved would be convicted under 18 USC 241 "Conspiracy against rights", and given 10 year sentences.

Another raw truth example that the different levels of government will work together to blow off court order/s and not follow the laws that they should. This is because they know the chances of a group or a citizen spending the money to go up against the government lawyers, is more than likely not going to have a productive outcome. And if it does the price is too high for the rewards. The government's players involved will never suffer any of the hardships that the citizens will in the expense of moving justice forward. So the people in government can hide behind their official titles and all is good.
I just can't help wondering if the NOPD didn't steal many of the guns and the government players are circling the wagons so this matter stays buried.
This situation makes it clear government has grown itself too large and the citizen has become so small that they can't afford to see government doesn't trash their Constitutional rights.
