New approach to classroom discipline
The Department of Education is acquiring a lot of short-barreled shotguns. They're for the Office of Inspector General, in case they have to deploy a SWAT team against cheated on a student loan or a contract.
Of course if you or I wanted one, they'd be "assault shotguns".....

Well, it could be for more hopeful reasons. The Education Department IG may be planning on cracking down on activities favored by the unions. Being prudent, they realize any opposition to unions is generally met with violence by the unions and that such union violence has a long and dangerous history.
Okay, so that was just wild speculation but it could happen but probably only under different administration.
There is a list on Wikpedia, but I'm sure its not complete. HUD, for example, has SWAT teams. IRS agents aren't supposed to carry unless enforcing alcohol or tobacco excise taxes but they do.

And all these people get to carry on an airplane!
Is it possible that Major Mike's list is the standing army that the framers of the Constitution were so worried about? And, additionally, how many of these bureaus are actually constitutionally authorized?
Just wondering???

Is there a website that keeps track of all the inexplicable government agencies running around with armed employees? By inexplicable, I mean those like the Dept. of Education that lack a law enforcement mission.
