Challenge to DC's ban on carrying

Posted by David Hardy · 25 January 2010 08:39 AM

Brian Doherty has an article on it in Reason Today. Heller was a "keep arms" case, this will be the "bear arms" one.

And the train kept a rollin' all night long... Good on Mr. Gura and best of luck to the plaintiffs. I'd bet the farm that true national reciprocity is less than two years away.

And is the NRA going to support this or not?

RKV...lol...are you serious? They have only filed after SAF does...then they ask to consolidate the cases, so they can take credit. I do like one of the sites they support ;-)

We do not need the NRA filing any cases...they had all the time in the world to do it. Join the SAF and support Alan.

The complaint filed by Gura is dated August 6, 2009. How come we haven't heard about this before? Have I been in some parallel universe all this time and simply missed it?

5th, Perhaps I should have put up the /sarc tag. I am well aware of the NRA's conduct in Heller.

To Greg in Allston's excellent question. I was wondering the same thing.

I read the complaint. Excellent Gura-esque logic to set up the case. But what is the status of the case today if it was filed six months ago?

Oral arguments were heard on 22 Jan, thus the update.

Thanks Kharn. Makes more sense as to why we are hearing of it now. But still a bit surprising this didn't make the rounds last Sep after it was filed.

For what we are about to receive may we be truly thankful. /no_sarc
