Cool statement from an LEO

Posted by David Hardy · 8 May 2009 07:54 AM

Story here. Toledo has laid off 75 officers, may lay off 75 more. An officer advises its citizens to "Invest in precious metals: lead, gun powder, and brass."

Around here, all those can be had -- it's the primers that are gone!

A much less cool statement at the bottom of the story...the allegation that having guns is more likely to result in the death or injury of a loved one...that's not supported by any statistics that I've ever seen.

I just picked up 400 large rifle primers today after calling around every few days for 3 months now. Why 400 and not 1000? The store is rationing them so everyone gets a chance to pick some up. Reputational economics at work!
