Via Instapundit comes this report of a lawsuit brought by a NY subway rape victim. Two subway personnel saw it, and their response was to send a message for someone to call the police.

As Glenn Reynolds notes, "Eric Holder talked about a “nation of cowards.” This is the real thing."

Actually someone wrote a short story/essay, I believe in the 80s, entiotled a Nation of Cowards.

I wonder how many even on here would give his/her life for someone. I would hope that I would but I have not been tested that far. Yet!

"Cops arrived in about 10 minutes."

And this was from transit workers pushing a "panic" button.

Imagine if it had been a mere "civilian" calling on a cell phone.

Ten minutes? The guy could have mass murdered dozens of people in that time. Take a look at what Cho did at Virginia Tech.

The poor woman probably is not legally allowed to even carry pepper spray in NYC.

"Nation of Cowards" by Jeffrey Snyder

Worth the read. Buy the book used from Amazon, the other essays in the book are even better.
