Oregon Universities bar student for lawful carry
Story here. Apparently the student has been informed that, not only is he suspended from the U he was attending, but he is barred from attending any State university in Oregon.

They need to slam the University system in Oregon as hard as possible. In addition to filing a civil case, how about pushing for filing formal charges against those involved for conspiring in the illegal deprivation of civil rights? Isn't this what the federal government used during the civil rights movement during the 60s and 70s?
As long as there are now criminal consequences, the university system will keep doing this over and over. Because of the huge disparity of financial resources, they will get away with it the majority of the time. FILE CRIMINAL CHARGES! I realize that the DA has to be the one, but one of these days, some DA just might!
Won't happen. The Willamette valley is a lefty pig-stye, and Monmouth is a liberal-arts college town, now that big Ag and lumber is closing down.
Eastern and central Oregon colleges would have never tried this.
It's unfortunate for those involved, but this will turn out to be good case law.
Mr. Maxwell violated no state law, merely a university policy. Since 1857, the Oregon constitution has provided that "The people shall have the right to bear arms for the defense of themselves, and the State..." We know what the US constitution provides, and are fairly safe to assume we'll have an incorporation ruling before this Maxwell case gets terribly far.
Barton and the Oregon War Veterans are going to chew some WOU butt ... and leave the state with some nice case law.
Boy I hope you're right about leaving the state some nice case law. The whole mess has left the young man with his G.I. Bill suspended, last semester's tuition and book fees wasted, and Lord knows what else.
We'll take him at the University of Utah!
My hopes are more vindictive. I hope no matter what happens with the legal case that all the members of faculty and administration of WOU end up unable to make a living. I am dead serious, I would enjoy seeing them separated from academia and turned down by fast food as too stupid to ask about "fries".
And those are my good sentiments as regards these mouth-breathing vermin.
We need state incorporation!
Is the Chicago case our best bet for incorporation? I’m trying to follow it, but as a layperson I probably don’t know the best way to access the progress. Does anyone know the status of the case? The last filing I read was about 3 weeks ago I think.
For Chuck @11:12 am...
Heres the web page for the Chicago lawsuit. Mcdonald vs Chicago

This seems like it would be a good case-law to win!
