Todd Jarrett shoots 1000 rounds in 10 minutes
YouTube here. By the end the gun is so hot that the trigger is burning his finger. That the gun keeps going is a tribute to the 1911 design, and to Para USA's execution of it.
Hat tip to reader David McCleary....

What!?
With ONE gun?
It must have been glowing dull red when he finishedm
Wow!
Gotta check out the video when I get home. Blackberry has poor youtube support.
Only Paris Hilton can spend more money in 10 minutes.
yeah or whoever she's... spending time with, any given evening.
The Adventures of Man continue!
Did you notice the gun bump-firing on occasion, when he was using his left index finger?
In truth, running 1000 rounds in 10 mins out of a 1911 would get tiring ...
There's another video on YouTube showing a guy shooting 300 rounds out of a bunch of drum magazines and a full auto AK-47, and setting the wooden forearm grip on fire.

He doesn't stop when it catches on fire, he just ignores the fact his gun is on fire and keeps loading up more drums while the whole forearm is engulfed in big flames.
Another funny one shows about 20 people shooting a big rifle (.577 T-rex? 700 nitro express?) and having the recoil blow the rifle out of their hands and knock them over.
whoah. he doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot of aiming, but of course, it's not a test of hitting targets.
hmm... i wonder what a Glock in .45, a couple dozen mags for same, and a thousand rounds of cheap .45ACP ammo would set me back... because i bet plastic-framed guns would have an advantage over steel frames in this kind of game, and wouldn't it be cool to be known as the guy who beat Todd Jarrett's record?
