Posted by David Hardy · 15 May 2008 04:45 AM

Story here. The legislation allows CCW holders to carry in restaurants that serve alcohol, on mass transit, etc..

Thank you for at least doing ONE good thing for our state, Sonny.

Some specifics of this bill:

Goes into effect July 1, 2008.

Removes restrictions on NON-licensed gunowners to carry in their vehicles. The old law allowed for you to carry WITHOUT a license--if you were eligible to receive one--in your glove box, "in a similar console," or in open view.

It shortens the maximum amount of time it takes to received your CCW permit upon applying for one from 110 days to 40 days.

Broadens carry rights to include parks, wildlife areas, bars/restaurants which derive their revenue 50% or less from alcohol, provided the concealed carrier does not drink, mass transit, etc.

Now to get rid of that damned ban on carrying in "public gatherings" nonsense.
