I hate it when attorneys wuss out
Guy's bodyguard flashes his gun at you during a deposition, and the attorney gets all upset. Why not just open the desk and show him your own?

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, the law firm that hosted the deposition in its San Diego office, said it was investigating. It said none of its lawyers were present at the deposition.
"The firm absolutely prohibits the presence of firearms in any of our offices and we believe our personnel were unaware that a firearm had been brought onto our premises, assuming that did occur," the firm said in a statement.
So, uh, Pillsbury is it? This "Gun Free Zone" thingy, how's that working out?
Pussies.
NCAA? Game over. You could make that little incident work for you and your client. He's just a thug, dogg. I'd make them listen to Toby Keith !
"Why not just open the desk and show him your own?"
Indeed, and if said weapon was a 1911A1, "cocked and locked", it would be hard to miss....
Well one thing we can bet on with some degree of certainty is that the bodyguard is or was a police officer. That is a standard intimidation technique.
No, LEO's don't have a monopoly on classless behavior. The "bodyguard" was probably a felon in possesion. I'll try to keep my contempt for sports heroes to myself.
If it happened, wouldn't that constitute a Failure to Conceal, and a crime that would potentially get the bodyguard's (very hard to come by in CA) CCW permit revoked?
One would think, with the animosity on display from both parties, that Lake's attorney would jump on this to get rid of the bodyguard, rather than grandstand for the media.
