Posted by David Hardy · 1 January 2008 07:59 PM

DC expects to file its brief on Friday.

Aw, link doesn't work. Take my word for it.

The link is working.

A friend of mine blogged yesterday regarding anticipation of the Heller case.

I also can't wait to read DCs brief, and wonder how their argument will be posed, and the degree to which they will use "rhetorical gymnastics." Along that line and from the blog above:

"...even Constitutional scholars who have little enthusiasm for gun rights...are finding themselves unable to sustain the rhetorical gymnastics required to plausibly argue a "collective right" interpretation of the Second Amendment..."

The WashPost reported today that the acting AG for DC has fired the current Heller appeal team. The same article reported the pending brief is 15000 words long. I don't have a link right now (sorry, using a PDA).
