Colorado church shooting halted by armed female
Michelle Malkin reports that one of the Colorado church shootings was halted by an armed female security staffer, who killed the perp.
"Police arrived to find the gunman had been killed by a member of the church’s armed security staff, Myers said.
“There was a courageous staff member who probably saved many lives here today,” Myers said."
Via Instapundit, who notes "People don't stop killers. People with guns do."

My church doesn't have armed security guards. That is to say, they neither pay for nor are they aware of everything that's under my coat, or the coats of 2-3 other members.
On a somewhat related question - regarding the recent mall shooting in Omaha, KS, do we know for sure yet (1) what gun the kid actually used and (2) how he got it?
I read one report saying that it was an SKS, then a couple others saying it was an AK-47. Knowing how little the MSM knows about guns, I hesitate to believe any of it until I get better confirmation of what the kid actually used. And I'm sure when they say "AK-47", they're really talking about the semi-auto version, probably Norinco or something. But the media loves the imagery and emotion that most gun-ignorant folks associate with calling something an "AK-47".

I like the quote and since I do not have a KJV handy is that Luke 22: 35-36 ?
Thanks,
The woman who acted in defense of the church was not a paid security guard. She was a church member with a concealed carry permit who volutarily provided security at the church. Naturally the news media is trying to protray her as a uniformed rent-a-cop.
It is said that Lincoln posed the question " if you call the tail of a dog a leg, how many legs does a dog have ?"
Since the assault weapons ban the press calls all long guns AK-47's and had never retracted the call, to my knowledge, at a later date. Thus as all tissue is Kleenex, and all long guns are AK-47's.
Rich,
Looks like it.
I googled "and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."
and found,
The spam filter won't let me post the links returned for your convenience but that is the fault of spammers who should be hung by their space bar digits.
Hope this helps

Rich and Tom, You are correct, my spelling was, unfortunately, not. Luke that is.
From the survailance camera it was clearly an AK-47 type and from the sound of the shots it was semi-auto and therefore, not an AK-47 assault rifle.
I have seen no news report calling the lady a 'rent a cop'. whether paid or not, if you provide security services you are a security officer under the eyes of the law and the limits of legal authority.
As a security professional, I resent the term and hope this example serves to prove what a true security professional can do.
This example, and the one at CNN should also bring home the fact that we security professionals are the true "first" responders and only then after the response of the victim. It should also be evident, that only when armed and well trained security has been present that 'active shooters' have been stopped from committing true mass murder. Of course, a well aremd and trained would-be victim could do the same.
I would expect such discussion on a 2nd ammendment web site, not a bunch of 'see-there" comments on how the reporters don't know one gun from another. Who cares!
"And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."
