I think we need new laws dealing with America's exposure to the deadly dangers shown in that publication.

For example, I think that most people don't need to have fast, high-powered cars. Nor do they need those high-capacity minivans and SUV's.

Nor do many people need the tiny, easy-to-hide motorcycles that can rapidly outpace any police vehicle.

How many children die yearly from America's love affair with the automobile?

It's time to do background checks for every car purchase and curtail non-dealer sales. We also need to register cars, have new owners fingerprinted, and require owners to periodically renew their license to own their car.

Seriously, since death by car accidents occurs 60 times more often than death by gunfire, we known we must do something about this scourge. We must do it now!
