More on the Oakland "Your Black Muslim Bakery" killing

Posted by David Hardy · 6 August 2007 12:15 AM

Some more revelations on how far CA is sliding toward the British standard, where you cannot defend yourself, yet the government will not enforce its rules, either:

"Broussard, who also uses the spelling Brossard, was formally booked Saturday on suspicion of murder. He was already on probation for a robbery conviction in San Francisco, and also had a pending case on charges of assault with a firearm from a 2006 San Francisco incident. In addition, there was a failure-to-appear warrant out for his arrest in that case.
....
One of those arrested in the raid was Yusuf Bey IV, son of the bakery's founder, the late Black Muslim leader Yusuf Bey. Bey IV was booked Saturday on a $375,000 warrant out of San Francisco stemming from an incident in which he allegedly ran over a security guard at a strip club. His brother, Joshua Bey, and two others arrested in Friday's raids, are being held in connection with the July 19 kidnapping and assault of a woman."

So these guys are free to commit agg. assault while on probation for robbery, and to fail to appear (meaning presumably they were given bail) on that, to drive over security guards, etc.?

Hitchens is all over this story over on Slate's "Fighting Words."

Funny how the ATF was too busy looking for clerical errors at Red's Trading Post to be involved with criminals who will shoot. Isn't it?

Well, I guess if you're going to be intimidated and harrassed ala Linda Young, it's better to chose a 70 year old man with a broken foot and a camera to intimidated by than actual bad guys.

How did they "match shotshells found at the scene" with a shotgun they had at the Muslim bakery? firing pin? powder residue? microstamping?
Our Jack Booted Thugs are obviously way more afraid of the Moslems than of law abiding Americans. Wearing a stupid little hat *might* make them hesitate long enough to get in a good defensive head shot. :-)

LOL this is Berzerkley, what do you expect. The bad guys are black, muslim and political and therefore untouchable by any left winged government.

It is common for police agencies to pick their chosen crime area. J. Edgar Hoover's FBI avoided treading on the toes of the Mafia for 30 years.

The ATF would rather take out a church (see Waco) or correct clerical errors by law abiding citizens and salesmen rather than go after criminal use of fully automatic weapons by drug trafficers.

Every cop want's to make it to retirement. Having harmless "crimes" available for the police to devote themselves, makes that easy.

Heck, people get hurt going after the real thugs!

We have over 15 million laws in the US. If we can't convince the legislature to repeal them, the President should put out "prosecution guidelines" directing prosecutors which crimes to not prosecute. Said guidelines should be made public, and arrests for those crimes would not count against police quotas.

Why are supposedly pious Muslims going to strip clubs and running over security guards? Doesn't that go against the teachings of Islam?
