Fred Thompson -- now there is a candidate I could vote for!

Posted by David Hardy · 20 April 2007 03:38 PM

Just read his article in Nat'l Review Online. A few excerpts:

"The statistics are clear. Communities that recognize and grant Second Amendment rights to responsible adults have a significantly lower incidence of violent crime than those that do not. More to the point, incarcerated criminals tell criminologists that they consider local gun laws when they decide what sort of crime they will commit, and where they will do so."

"In recent years, however, armed Americans — not on-duty police officers — have successfully prevented a number of attempted mass murders. Evidence from Israel, where many teachers have weapons and have stopped serious terror attacks, has been documented. Supporting, though contrary, evidence from Great Britain, where strict gun controls have led to violent crime rates far higher than ours, is also common knowledge."

He's better than anyone announced so far. As the Raging Cajun recently said: Rudy has been married more times than Romney has been hunting."

I think he's someone with all the gifts. A practical idealist who understands the country and someone the country can understand. Best of all, he'll drive the moonbats over the moon. A prediction: if elected, he'll take the title "Great Communicator" away from Reagan. Ronnie was the "first born," the older, successful big brother type. Daddy Fred offers the style of leadership the country's been wanting to stop Washington's adolescent idiocy. Unfortunately, the train may have way too much inertia for any presidency; perhaps a derailing is the only thing which will stop it.

I saw Fred on Hannity last night. This man reninds me of my long gone Father. Very principled, and about as conservative as it gets now days. His stance on the First and Second amendments reflect a man of character and judgement. I’m Going to support him to the best of my limited ability.
