CA man pleads to possession of assault rifle
A California gun collector has entered a plea to felony possession of an assault rifle. Story here. The guns came to light when his house caught fire.
(And I don't recommend having 185 cans of gunpowder around, if only because it can make a house fire much more interesting).

Our worst nightmare, as firemen is the unknown stupidity of our fellow man. As a fellow,"gunnut", H&K longguns in my case, I hear bias screamming here.
Last day on duty "Homey and his gurls", set fire to clothes in an apperal store to divert attention from their theft in progress. No big, clerk tossed the burning clothes on hangars onto the floor, and the 1st arriving company threw them out the front door, lotta smoke but no big loss.
So ol sista dreads was observed to go in back to look for cash, so we went in back to check for a 2nd fire. We noticed a huge cavernous basement, and looked into it for future reference. The 40 lb propane tanks sitting on top of the piles of lumber, well thats OK, just SURE DEATH if there is a fire.
The gunpowder was dumb, very dumb, but what of all the other hazards firemen encounter on a daily basis? Why is this any different than the 5 cases of Paslode cartridges that I fell over at a burning construction site? OH wait, it's part of the GUNS BAD bias! Our bad
Since when did the homeowner ever sign away title to his house?[scuffling with firefighters who tried to keep him from re-entering his burning home.] This reminds me of the New Orleans hurricane victims who were additionally victimized by the law enforcement types. And those posing as law enforcement types. This underscores the need to tighten up all the safety issues around the house so as not to attract undesirable attention.
