Geo. Washington's writings on arms

From gunshowonthenet.com comes an extensive collection of Washington's writings on the subject of arms and arms-bearing.
I did not see a link for email or comments on the George Washington, or I'd have sent the following information to them. The very first quote needs to be removed as it is embarrassingly wrong. In this context, a "pistole" is not a firearm. It is a coin, sometimes called a doubloon, and worth roughly the purchase price of a cow. Dinwiddie's request to recieve a pistole for the signing of each land grant was pretty high-handed and caused considerable controversy because it was a fair amount of money.
