American Shooters & Hunters Assn and the media

Posted by David Hardy · 26 January 2007 11:00 PM

I've mentioned American Shooters & Hunters Association -- which is basically an antigun group flying false colors, here and here and here. For Pete's sake, it's not even a good "false colors" operation: it was founded by a Brady Campaign director, with Brady's agenda.

ABC News just ran a piece on Bloomberg's mayors' group, claiming that it's a "gun rights group":

"The head of the American Hunters and Shooters Association, Ray Schoenke, said that gun rights "extremists," including the National Rifle Association, have taken positions that have "tarnished" the reputations of hunters and shooters... He is the first gun rights advocate to join the mayors in their cause."

Welcome fellow Instapunditers! Take a look at the main blog, and if you're a voting NRA member, my board elections roundup of all relevant blogs and webpages. If you're into the Second Amendment, you might take a look at my new documentary film on it.

Well, I suppose at least they are becoming more transparently anti-gun now.

Is there nothing we can do against Bloomberg? The ATF won't help. RICO Lawsuit?

Since when are rights and freedom "extremist"?

Were the Founding Fathers "extremists"?

Such disgusting tactics make me sick.

Kinda like calling PETA a pro-meat organization.

This is far worse then the Orwellian names the Lefties usually adopt to disguise the true agenda of their organizations.

A group did the same thing in Oregon, the OGO, Oregon Gun Owners. (www.ogo.org) They claimed to be pro-gun rights then proceeded to divert all funds solicited to passing gun control legislation.

The group was led by Mannix(D), who then converted to (R) and ran for Governor twice. Although he lost, the fact he could run at all demonstrated the utility of the method.

The lesson? The MSMs will allow you to get away with this fraud if it is consistent with their agenda.

Speaking of fraud... is using a donation for a purpose outside the scope of "promise" for what that donation should have gone to fraudulent?

Is that Ray Schoenke the ex-Redskin lineman? If so, didn't he try running for office in Maryland as a Democrat a few years back.

Bloomberg has 'Important Person' immunity; we can't expect the BATFE to bother someone like that, can we?

Yes, they were. Revolutionaries, even... Freedom IS an "extreme".
