New Orleans gun returns
After months of delay, and even claims that they didn't have any seized guns, New Orleans has announced the gun returns will begin tommorow.
Interesting that they're asking for proof of ownership -- probably because they didn't make records of what was taken from whom.

"Civil rights." This term refers to the rights of people being protected from illegal discrimination by parties based on protected class (like being fired for your race or religion).
"Civil liberties" refers to rights of people being protected from unconstitutional or illegal infringement by government entities (like illegal search and seizures [or RKBA infringement]).
So, unless NOLA focused on people of one race or the other, the "Commission on Civil Rights" has no role in this.
It is important to maintain an objectively accurate understanding of these distinctions and definitions.
It's a good start. I still want to see Nagin and Compass in federal court on civil rights charges. I'd like to think that it at least came up at the US Commission on Civil Rights but they only seem to concern themselves with racial issues.
