Webpage on felon in possession state statutes
Netscape has an interactive map that shows how different states treat felon in possession situations. It seems quite accurate for my state (Arizona). It indicates that Vermont, interestingly, appears to have no State no felon in possession restriction.

I'd like to know if anyone can tell me a good place to go where I can find CA law on people convicted of drug possession charges, who do the program, and their subsequent right to own a fire arm? This is a non-felony conviction, but I have read that this person will no longer be able to own any type of fire arm again.
The information for Massachusetts is correct, although there's no mention of the litle trap created by the legislature. Some felons can apply for and be granted a Firearms Identification Card after 5 years, making it legal for them to purchase and possess long arms under state law, just as the site indicates. However, since the state will not allow them a License to Carry Firearms, which is required to purchase or possess handguns, BATFE still considers that their rights have not been completely restored. As a result, possession of any rifle or shotgun, though explicitly allowed by the state will earn the unwarry an extended vacation at Club Fed.
