Film festival to show "In Search of the Second Amendment"!!

Posted by David Hardy · 22 February 2008 01:54 PM

My documentary (you can order from the ad in the left margin), "In Search of the Second Amendment," has been selected to show at the Backlot Film Festival in Los Angeles. Festival date is April 2-5, I don't have a specific date and time for my screening.

Also showing will be "Lady Magdalene's," by libertarian filmmaker and author J. Neil Schulman. It's a drama/comedy that is pro-gun, and features his composition "I'd rather be tried by twelve than carried by six," which is one heck of a melody.

Is that Nichelle Nicols in that Lady Magdalene's movie?

Yes, the star of Lady Magdalene's is Nichelle Nichols, "Uhura" on Star Trek and now "Nana Dawson" on NBC's blockbuster hit series, Heroes.

Nichelle is (along with myself) one of the movie's two executive producers; each of us wrote original songs for the movie (including my song that David mentioned, "Tried by 12" -- it's an RKBA anthem with a Western feel to it) and I wrote, directed, and even have a supporting acting role. (I play "Ali the American," an al-Qaeda terrorist recruited in the U.S.)

I can't tell you what more is pro-Second Amendment about the movie without giving plot spoilers, but since I wrote the book Stopping Power: Why 70 Million Americans Own Guns (endorsed by Charlton Heston, and containing my L.A. Times Op-Ed piece that converted Dennis Prager from being pro-gun-control to being pro-gun ownership), webmaster of the World Wide Web Gun Defense Clock, and a past president of an NRA Members Council, I think you can take my word that friends of RKBA will find a lot to like in this movie. (Hey our production used Front Sight in Nevada as our back lot!)

Check out the Lady Magdalene's official website for our trailer, the "Tried by 12" music video, buzz! and more.

Cheers!

Better to be tried by 12 than carried by six.

Better to visit you in Corcoran or Tehachapi than Forest Lawn.
