More gun confiscations in Louisiana

Posted by David Hardy · 16 February 2006 12:10 PM

Over at the Liberty Zone, Nicki reports a new (Jan. 28) case of firearms seizures in Louisiana. This one was in the town of Gonzales, and when the person protested that there was no law against open carry, he was told "tell it to the judge." The prosecutor wisely dropped the charges.

Sounds like a 1983 suit to me.... (Hat tip to Publicola)

UPDATE: Sounds like it wasn't his first, er, negative encounter with law enforcement. More here. No guarantee it's the same person, but it is the same name and locale.

He's a class A bozo if you ask me, but even bozos have rights. I'd like to hear the other side of the story before I would get worked up about it. Some of the things he talks about seem pretty fantastic to me.

Sounds like an activist with a long history of annoying the police and working to change the law.

Great example of why we need constitutionally limited government.

If I am a class A bozo, you need to go back and do some serious study of the law and YOUR rights......

I was a bit harsh. If your account is all true certainly there's no excuse for state officials acting in this manner, and I hope you win your lawsuit. But I'm a strong believer in civility, even with government officials, who, after all, are people too. I think the in your face approach just tends to turn people off to one's cause.

It's not a question of IF my account is true. If you were to take the time to actually communicate with me, or anyone who even actually KNOWS me, you'd realize when Mark speaks, the truth comes pouring out..............!!!!

Civility???????? Asking someone to obey the very law they swore an oath to uphold is about all the civility you can expect from me. Civility? The founders of this country practiced that, too. Right up to the day the British troops made the fateful mistake of trying to grab some privately owned weapons, the founders practiced civility in trying to resolve their differences with the crown. I'm not trying to build a political base to seek office, merely trying to live as a free man in a slave nation. If someone else doesn't understand/support that, oh well..........saw a bumper sticker the other day that pretty much sums the whole situation up. " The LORD must love stupid people, He made so many of 'em."
