Just released a new book

Posted by David Hardy · 17 August 2018 12:27 PM

I just released a short book on Amazon, entitled "Mass Killings: Myth, Reality, and Solutions." Major themes are:

The real problem is the mass media. Most mass killers are driven by extreme narcissistic personality disorder. They will do anything (including dying) to have their names and faces known, to become a "celebrity." For them, infamy is as good as fame. The mass media have established a symbiotic relationship with them. The killers give the media what they want, viewership, and ad income, and it gives them what they want, celebrity status.

There are solutions (starting with media self-restraint) but the book shows why gun control is totally worthless. Mass killers plan for months or years, will pass any background check, use whatever weapons they can get, rarely use AR-15s, and often steal their weapons. If there is any human action that cannot possibly be affected by gun control, mass killing is it. Conversely, armed citizens and off-duty police have a very good record for stopping mass shootings. The book documents a dozen or so cases where this happened, and calls for arming teachers.

The book is available on Amazon as a Kindle e-book for $2.99 or as a paperback for $5.99.
