Daley's attempt to make registration onerous, rather than impossible, isn't succeeding very well.

UPDATE: I verified the url, using the very link that was emailed to me -- and suddenly it doesn't work. On a second try, five minutes later, it did. No idea why.

In Illinois, the FOID is issued by the state police, and by applying for an FOID, you agree to a background check including a check of all mental health records.
Is Chicago saying that the comprehensive state law is insufficient?

Also, in Illinois, concealed carry is prohibited unless you have a permit. Open carry is allowed on your own property. That is, you can carry openly up to the boundary lines of property you own.
