R. Lee Ermey alive, report of death a hoax

Posted by David Hardy · 31 May 2010 10:19 AM

This morning I posted from an email report that R. Lee Ermey had died. This was shown to be a hoax by the best possible evidence: a commenter just saw him in Washington's Memorial Day parade!

Anyway, here's my Dad's webpage (I've got to clean up the html when I have time). He grew up in a one-room adobe cabin, no electricity or water, walls consisting of sheets hung from the ceiling, and lived to see the 21st century.

Do you have a source for that? I can't find anything online, and I assume the internet would be going nuts over something like that.

I heard this last week and it was false then. We will see at 2PM at the Memorial Day parade as he is listed as a participant.

Just saw The Gunny at the DC Memorial Day parade. He sure as hell ain't dead yet.

If media outlets reported on Gary Coleman, and Britney Murphy's husband (?), they'd be reporting on R. Lee Ermey. He ain't dead. You may want to just remove this post.

"Many people who packed the Constitution Avenue parade route had ties to the military.

U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey says he found the parade to be an emotional one.

"It brings a tear to my eye," Ermey says. "I'm a pretty hardcore guy. It's not easy to get me to cry. Patriotism in this country is alive and well." "

I hope the stool sample that instigated the bum scoop about the Gunny's death continues to have a meaningless life with nothing to do!

Carry On, Gunny!
