BATFE hierarchy largely empty

Posted by David Hardy · 25 August 2009 11:14 AM

The NY Times reports that well over half of the Obama's Administration's appointive policymaking positions are are still empty, the slots filled with someone in an acting capacity.

I'm told ATF presently has an acting director, acting deputy director, and acting chief of staff.

Well, since they act like goons, mobsters and racketeers, thats appropriate

Jesus had 12 disciples, the Obomber has somewhere around 40 czars and fuhrers and whatnot, I think he has it covered. What else could he need?

well they've been acting like they've been making a difference for more than a few decades, so what's six months?

Those positions aren't empty in any meaningful sense. The office-holders haven't been vetted, but they are busy and they feel comfortable wielding their power. Most appointees will be acting for the first 3 years of the administration. The only rush to actually get them approved would be if they wanted to quit.

The fact of the matter is that in NO administration has this agency been fully under the president of the moment's control. They are, and always have been, a law unto themselves.
