Chicago Tribune on guns & Heller case
Editorial here.
"Like Daley, this page strongly disagreed with the court's ruling. We admire his stand on this issue. But the court ruling was clear and explicit: A blanket ban on handgun ownership is unconstitutional under the 2nd Amendment."

I'm not sure that I want Chicago to give in: right now they're the "low-hanging fruit" for the incorporation issue.

The wonders keep not ceasing... However, I'll echo someone else who knows who he is - this is Daley protecting Obama from uncomfortable election time questions on top of all the other reasons like losing and making incorporation happen faster...

OK, so what is legal? All you need is any gun to get a better gun, as the Liberator showed in WWII.

I wonder how much the editors at the Tribune would "admire" the mayor if he closed down all the abortion clinics in Chicago because he disagreed with Roe v. Wade.
I'm guessin' not so much......

"We share Daley's anger at the 5-4 ruling of the Supreme Court. It was based on flawed legal reasoning, ignored precedent and will lead to years of litigation about the constitutionality of various firearms restrictions. "
Written by someone who probably has done no research on the subject, read Scalia's opinion, or any of the amicus briefs that dispell the incorrect precedent and highlight just how logical the decision was. What a waste.
