A bit of hypocrisy...

Posted by David Hardy · 27 August 2007 06:53 PM

Sylvester Stallone, a Brady Campaign stalwart, who's said ""until America, door to door, takes every handgun, this is what you're gonna have... It really is pathetic... We're livin' in the Dark Ages over there," turns out to have a CCW permit, issued by the celebrity-loving LA County Sheriff.

Oh, and listing four handguns that he will be packing.

And, interesting -- he answers question 9, has he been convicted of any offense in this or any other country, with "no." That was apparently true when he wrote it (2004) but a few months ago he plead to a charge in Australia that would qualify as a felony. The Supreme Court has ruled that foreign felonies don't count, California law may vary, but I'd assume this would be cause to re-examine his permit. Oh, I forgot, he's a celebrity.

The hypocrisy of the armed and packing liberals never ceases to amaze me. Guns for me, but none for thee, indeed.

No doubt he's a confirmed environmentalist, too. With a gigantic house, multiple gas guzzlers, private planes, etc.

Stallone deserves a special award for hypocrisy. When I lived in California, I used to run into him shooting fairly often at the Beverly Hills Gun Club, a club of which he was a part owner. Back before they were officially ruled "evil", his brother Frank, who used to frequent the same shop I did, never seemed to find an Uzi, HK91 or similar nasty looking gun he didn't immediately fall in love with and buy.

This from a guy who has made hundreds of millions of dollars making movies glorifying all kinds of firepower - full-auto, bullets and shell casings flying all over the place. Rambo, anyone?

But then, a lot of Hollywood is this way - they'll gladly make movies showing lots and lots of "gun violence", then go on a crusade about how awful it is that American society is "obsessed with guns."

Actors are good at pretending to be something they're actually not, delivering clever lines carefully crafted by writers and editors, in the manner and with the subtleties of stage business suggested by an able director.

...in some cases, Actors and actresses can actually portray, convincingly, an intelligent, brave, thoughtful, trustworthy person...

...even though they themselves, in their private persona, are NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Let's have a "Party at Kitty and Studs."

I'll bring the beer.

Fits right in with the typical hoolyweed ultra leftist - liars and hypocrites all of them as far as I can tell.

I never much liked any of his movies, and noiw he has given me more reason not to watch any of them ever again. Funny though, isn't it, how he makes the most of his money of movies wherein he uses guns.

until America, door to door, takes every handgun

Well, it worked out pretty well for England, didn't it?

Didn't it????
