Proposal to add terrorist watch list to prohibited person category

Posted by David Hardy · 10 June 2007 10:23 PM

An interesting discussion at the Volokh Conspiracy about Walter Murphy, retired Colonel of Marines, and Professor Emitus at Princeton, who finds himself apparently on the "watch list."

I hope readers don't think that all the threats to the Second Amendment come from the Left. The anti-terror laws and infrastructure being put in place by Bush could come to haunt us under excesses in any administration.

Should scalawags of ANY stripe come to power and try to seize guns, and I refuse to rule out advocating a violent change of government, am I a terrorist? Maybe not now, but in three years at the rate our freedom of speech is disappearing, I would probably be ruled unfit to own weapons, and a raid on my home will try to seize them.

Think twice before you support the NICS Act.

I tried to post a comment over at Volokh's, and could not figure out how to get past the registration. Anyhow, it sounds like Murphy is developing schizophrenia.

Rivrdog, it does seem we have to choose between scoundrels and scalawags, doesn't it?
