Every year...

Posted by David Hardy · 22 December 2005 02:45 PM

Every Christmas, back at least to 1975, John Snyder of Citizens' Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, has sent out a card along these lines, and every year for 30 years now it's gotten press.

Does anyone else thikn that the following quote:

"One of the problems with the card seems to be the lack of sophisticated firepower in the hands of the terrorists," Hamm said. "Poor Santa might be outgunned by terrorists with AK-47s and Uzis," he added, because of the CCRKBA's "opposition to a law that would prohibit people on the terrorist watch list from buying firearms."

Only serves to allow heavier firepower into the hands of civilians since A)It is unlikely the terrorist will buy a semi-auto since their preferred mode of fire is spray and pray. And B) Without a Class III license you can't get a full-auto Ak or Uzi anyway?

Has anyone found a link to a photo of what the card looks like? I saw one when my old House committee received one ten years ago. Really a great cartoon, actually, from what I remember. If anyone finds a link to today's card, please post it here.

Merry Christmas!
