Agreed. If he was an attempted rapist, the article would almost certainly have included that detail. Since it didn't, and the guy was a "neighbor," this sounds like one the police ought to check into, at least a bit. I'm guessing ex-boyfriend. That doesn't mean she wasn't in danger and wasn't right to shoot, but there has to be more here.
