Seal Team Six rifles

Article here. The gun used to send Osama to a warmer clime was an H&K HK416, a short-stroke gas piston action that fits a standard M4 lower.

Too bad we mere mortals can't get one :-(

The HK416 upper in 16" barrel fits nicely on any semiauto lower. In many states getting an SBR tax stamp for the short barrel isn't hard either.

Gene:

Do you know any place that is selling HK416 uppers to civilians?

And, by the way, all the real gunnies know that Osama was capped with a Shrike.

HKparts dot com has 14.5" uppers in stock for ... $4,295.00.

Insanity.

My $450 LMT upper is, quite frankly, more than sufficient ...

Sorry ... that's hkparts dot net.

Well, to be honest, it doesn't look like they actually have those uppers in stock, even though that is the asking price. But geez, they are asking over $700 for a complete bolt/carrier group (which also doesn't appear to be in stock). You can buy the parts and build an entire bargain basement standard direct impingement AR for less than that. Stoooopid.
