Pro-arms article ... at Daily Kos?

Right here. The comments (1,400+ of them) are equally interesting.

Just a note ...

I saw something very similar to that published on the Kos after the Heller decision. It was by that same "Angry Mouse."

That said, I agree with much of what he/she wrote.

That's good stuff. I have never been able to buy the whole GOP corporate shill platform (of course, when it comes to Wall Street, there is no REAL difference between the GOP and the Dems today). But gun control and baby killing kept me pissed at the Dems.

The RATS have too much invested in gun control to change. Those of us who could read the plain text of the Constitution successfully should never let them forget how wrong they were, nor how far they ARE willing to go to get their way. Writing out ANY part of the Constitution without using the methods of Article 5 is WRONG. Big time. This is the part where the conservatives usually blow it - the RATS don't want to kiss and make up, they want us to forget their errors and gut the 2nd Amendment by stealth. For instance, turning it into a right to keep and bear a single shot firearm, after having taken psychological tests, 30 hours of training, bearing it only in your house, not in your garage or yard, with ammunition that costs $10000 a round and an annual registration fee. That's what they would have us believe is "well-regulated." No way.

I have bookmarked something that I liked on the Daily KOS aboout why liberals should support the Second Amendment.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/4/21/19133/5152

It was also written by the Angry Mouse....

It is interesting reading the comments because of the many that say the right is composed of freedom hating, corporate shilling extremists. The image of the right is one of stupidity and selfishness. They take the few extreme examples and make it out to be the norm.

It is not how I think of myself but it does help clarify how we are thought of

The first Daily Kos "article" I have read and agreed with! Thanks for posting it. And look, my pig just lifted off and is flying around the room!

As nicely written as this is, it is fatally flawed because its basic premise is just plain wrong. Liberals do not support the other rights in the bill of rights. Not at all.

Liberals oppose the first amendment when it is being exercised by people like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh. I have been told by liberals that because they are "inciting hate" and that their books and programs have "hidden meaning" that they should be banned. Colleges and universities have "speech codes."

Liberals oppose the fourth amendment. The woman who runs the domestic violence group in Rhode Island told me that any time a woman is "in fear" that the man she is "afraid of" should have his property confiscated. The "in fear" is actually a legal standard used to deprive people of their property and liberty.

A sociology professor at URI told me that when a man is accused of rape, he should have to prove his innocence rather than be presumed innocent.

I have been told by liberals that the concept of "states rights" is obsolete and the federal government should have complete power to govern all states, because differences in state law are unfair. They didn't like it that abortion laws vary state to state.

Liberalism is about controlling everything about society. Not just what people do but what they actually think. They can claim they support individual rights all they like, but what they mean is that they support rights for those who think and act as they do, not for the rest of us.
