NRA and Brady Center finally have something to agree on

Posted by David Hardy · 18 January 2010 09:41 AM

Article here:

"Obama got an "F" on every issue the Brady Campaign scored, according to its report card."

UPDATE: from New West:

"all of the above makes me more comfortable that I made the right bet when I said the NRA has won the war for the Second Amendment and Democrats have given up on the gun issue."

Clearly, the reason President Obama is currently so unpopular is that he hasn't concentrated enough on gun control. If he had only gone after law abiding gun owners with Clinton like vengeance, his approval ratings would be over 90%.

Don't have anything lower than an F, huh?

True Marksists believe in gun rights until after the revolution. They figure you need guns to take down big business. In the U.S., they point to the FFA corporate exemption for machine guns. "What's up with that!?" they ask.

How come gun grabbers aren't trying to close THAT "loophole"?

In response to Jim D's. comment.

In Saul Alinsky's book, "Rules For Radicals", he quotes Lenin on page 37, "They have the guns and therefore we are for peace and reformation through the ballot. When we have the guns then it will be through the bullet."

For New West: The democrats will NEVER give up on the gun issue. If you think they have... read the above paragraph.

If the gun control lobby was smart -- and that's a big if -- they would give up their efforts in the U.S. Congress, state legislatures, and city councils, and instead concentrate their resources on getting homeowners associations to turn their common interest communities into "privatized gun free zones".

Although HOAs have the power of small governments, they are also shielded as corporations. Therefore, they do not have to honor the constitutional rights of their members. Think of those cases of people getting in trouble with their HOA for displaying an American flag.

With almost all new housing being built in HOAs over the past 30 years, they could effectively ban gun possession for 50 million people -- 1/6 of the U.S. population. As the percentage of people living under HOAs increases over the course of a few decades, the "problem" of people being allowed to own guns will eventually take care of itself.
