Novel Brittish approach to home invasions

Officers go about with megaphones, and empowered to enter houses, shouting warnings to lock doors and windows. And the press describes it as a "burglary crackdown."

Don't you just love the final part of the story where they brought a van in from 60 miles away to carry a prisoner 200 yards to protect his dignity?

They are living in biarro world for sure.

And just think that 200 years ago they would have horsewhipped him all the way there in front of a cheering crowd.

We also have signs that say "Thieves operate in this area."

We would prefer to have signs saying "Police operate in this area."

Sadly it will be a cold day in Hell before we see announcements that "Armed citizens operate in this area."
