OSHA opines on OKL law on workplace parking lot storage
Here's a pdf of a new OSHA opinion that the Oklahoma law protecting employees who have firearms in their locked cars, on employer-owned parking lots, are protected against firing.
[Corrected, thanks to comment. I rec'd this from someone in FLA and assumed it related to the similar law there. Understand, when I'm preparing for a big trial, I don't have a lot of time to post]

That appears to be about Oklahoma, not Florida.

Um, am I missing something in your first sentence? What does the opinion say?

I thought the OK law had been overturned a couple of years ago, largely on the basis of the general OSHA rule about "workplace safety" - Conoco/Phillips being one of the lead plaintiffs (I don't buy their gas, as a personal policy matter, because of their stance in that litigation.) Was that decision subsequently reversed? If not, this letter from OSHA strikes me as a dollar short and a day late to do any good for OK employees who want to keep their guns in their cars.

The Oklahoma U.S. District Court decision is on appeal to the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (in Denver). The letter is for use in the appeal.
