Pretty disgusting. Icarry.org has set up a defense fund.

Wow. That's egregious. Makes me wish I practiced law in Chicago so I could take up his hopefully soon-to-be-filed civil suit.
Handicapped, followed the law to the letter, bad search, bad arrest, deprived of food and medicine, etc. etc. etc. It just goes on and on.

Just another reason to pack your things and move out of these kind of moronic places.
I'm proposing a split along the Mississippi. All the morons and idiot get the right and the rest of us get the left. (When facing north).

I hope that this gentleman sues the living daylights out of Chicago, and they have to pay and pay and pay.

What? You think that having the Law on your side makes a bit of difference in Chicago? the powers that be in Chicago do what they want when they want. The little people get smashed whenever those powers want.
He will be convicted so that his civil case never sees the light of day.
Only criminals are allowed to have guns in Chicago. Those on both sides of the law.

Too bad DOJ seems to be so reluctant to charge the officers involved with criminal violations of 18 USC § 242, leaving it to private attorneys to go after taxpayer dollars under 42 USC § 1983. It seems that when guns are involved, even the Americans with Disabilities Act doesn't matter.

Hey wait a minute, FWB!
That would include Virginia and lots of other very gun-friendly places!
I like it here in VA, thanks very much.

Sickening.

The story does not say that the police searched and found his pistol. "Illegal search" only applies to the police, not to his coworkers or employer.
While I agree he was not in violation of Illinois law, he would seem to have been violating the Chicago city handgun prohibition. Wonder why he was not charged with that - if he was inside the city limits?
