Will wonders never cease, part 3

The Mass. House passed a resolution endorsing the Heller decision!. Sounds as if the Gun Owners Action League was pushing it.

I think this is actually part two of the series ... but this surely counts for at least two wonders.

Massachusetts? The same Massachusetts that was one of the anti-2A amici for petitioner in the DC v Heller case? They argued against incorporation ... that the 2A limits only congress, not the individual state's powers to regulate firearms ... and by extension, to regulate arms to and beyond the point of flat-out prohibition on possession.

The same MA whose citizens elected John Kerry and Ted Kennedy as US Senators?

The tide seems to be turning a little bit here in the Commonwealth. The resolution passed in the House 115 - 40, the Senate declined to consider it (predictable). If it weren't for the usual suspects (and very powerful they are) in the cities, things here would look a lot more like the rest of New England. Rep. Guyer even got an amendment to the special appropriations bill through the house (97 to 59!)that would have lowered FID/LTC fees from $100 to $40, but that didn't make it out of the Senate. They also sent a Katrina bill to the Governor (he'll likely veto it, I hope that it's overridden). Don't count Massachusetts out yet. We need all the help that we get.
