More on ACLU Nevada and Heller

Posted by David Hardy · 12 July 2008 04:41 PM

The Las Vegas Sun has a more detailed story on it. As I mentioned earlier, I expect the Texas ACLU will join them as soon as it had a board of directors meeting. My memory is that in the past they endorsed "shall issue" permits in their State.

The Nevada ACLU repsects the individual's right to bear arms "SUBJECT TO CONSTITUTIONALLY PERMISSIBLE REGULATIONS"... now this quote sounds like typical liberalism, 1st tell you they support you, then tell you we only want reasonable gun laws. and when did you see a reasonable gun law from the left? i hope that my distrust of this statement can be proven wrong. it would be good for a change to see any part of the ACLU realy stand for the 2nd.

Does their support of other constitutionally affirmed rights come with the same qualifier?

"SUBJECT TO CONSTITUTIONALLY PERMISSIBLE REGULATIONS"

.....that is basically what the ACLU says about free speech too.
