"gun guys" on the UN

Posted by David Hardy · 21 July 2008 12:49 PM

Most amusing. The (anti)Gun Guys, a/k/a Freedom States Alliance, a/k/a Joyce Foundation, have a post complaining about the US refusing to participate in a UN conference directed at the international arms trade.

What's amusing is the illustration, I assume of illegal arms being rounded up somewhere in Africa. I see several AKs, SKSs, Mausers, Enfields, a possible Sten, and several H&Ks. Not one American-made rifle in the lot.

Hat tip to read Jack Anderson....

What a bunch of Quisling turds...bazookas, indeed!

Just for us shlomos who aren't as up on the UN scene as we should be, why does the US's non participation "curtail" their "work"? I'd think they'd be happy the US wasn't there so they could ram through their statist crapola in their absence...

Name the top 5 arms dealers in the World.

Private or public?

Damn. I did it. I gave the Gun Guys one more hit. I swear they would get to attention whatsoever if not for gun bloggers and their readers.

I would suppose they might not be willing to give the following article some thought?

Polsby, D. D. and D. B. Kates. 1997. OF HOLOCAUSTS AND GUN CONTROL. Washington University Law Quarterly (75 Wash. U. L.Q. 1237).

These dudes are so crooked they need to screw their pants on in the morning. Their whole post on Heller's complaint concerning DC's ban on semi-autos is totally absurd. They tried to phrase the entire post to say that Heller was trying to legitimize people getting an AK-47 or something. I loved how they left out the part about DC classifying semi-auto pistols as a machine gun. Real classy! These guys should work for Obama!

ah, well, that was in lord of war -- the top five government arms dealers are the five permanent members of the UN security council.

should be obvious that their idea of "security" is to arm governments who play ball with the UN, instead of simply arming oppressed people anywhere and everywhere.

i wonder who they give food to, then.

ATL,

Obama was once director of the Joyce Foundation which funds the 'Gun Guys' - so, technically they did work for Obama at one point.

"They tried to phrase the entire post to say that Heller was trying to legitimize people getting an AK-47 or something."

Straw man arguments aside (which is what they were doing), it's entirely legitimate for responsible people to own AKs (at the least, semi-auto ones).

Then there's the Israeli approach to gun control.
Re the "bulldozer" attack (actually a backhoe):
"The vehicle reportedly left a construction site near Yemin Moshe neighborhood and set off towards Liberty Bell Park (Gan Hapa'amon), near the corner of Keren Hayesod and King David streets. It drove a distance of approximately 160 meters, attempting to overturn a bus and crashing into four other vehicles - one of which it flipped over. The man was then shot dead by a civilian and a border policeman. "

David Hardy reads Gun Guys so I don't have to.

The "Gun Guys" are NOT "amusing". They are evil and dangerous. These kind of folks are how freedom and liberty dies.

It ain't funny.
