UN suspends food shipments in Darfur due to inability to protect

Posted by David Hardy · 17 April 2008 08:14 PM

Story here.

"Claiming banditry against food trucks as the root cause, officials with the United Nation’s World Food Program announced today they are cutting rations to the people of Sudan’s Darfur region."

" "We're appealing to the rebel factions and their commanders who operate in other parts of Darfur to ensure security on the roads and to respect the neutrality of all people involved in the humanitarian effort," Oshidari said. "If the security situation on the roads improves, we will be able to restore the ration levels."

I'm sure that appealing to the rebels will be more than enough to rectify this despicable situation. Just like it worked in Rwanda, and North Korea, and Iran...

They could airlift weapons to the starving people and let them take their own food, but that's too damn reasonable.

Another case of Its Always The Moslems Aggressing. We don't want to offend the little darlings, do we?
