Why are the views of John R. Lott Jr. so hard for people to accept? The criminal element is seeking a safe haven to perform his dirty work and Gun-Free Zones are the perfect place for Mr. & Mrs. Criminal to do their dirty work.

Schools can bolster their security by placing multiple hired and specially trained guards at all schools. However, in this case, schools cannot afford the cost of guards so they are more comfortable placing the children’s lives at risk and placing the blame elsewhere. The school systems must take the responsibility of guaranteeing the safety of students!

If they cannot afford hiring guards, people who have a CHL, CCW, or what ever you want to call it would volunteer to accept a security position. These people would also volunteer to gain additional training if the school required it.

Folks, the CHL and CCW holders are standing by to protect our local institutions from intruders just as we are standing by to protect our Nation should the need arise. We are both inexpensive and available, yet you are willing to place our children at risk in “Weapon Free Zones” every day. Remember, law-abiding citizens read and obey signs. Criminals could care less about any signs that you may post on property. They do care and thank you for empowering them to be the worst possible citizen they can be.
