Fight over bill allowing accessible guns in National Parks

Posted by David Hardy · 16 February 2008 12:14 PM

Story here. McCain is cosponsoring the amendment, and Reid is pulling the bill, reportedly so that Sen. Clinton and Obama don't have to vote on it.

Tho I'd think a simpler solution would be for the two to announce they're too busy campaigning to fly back to DC for a vote on a modest amendment. As I recall, Hillary has played that hand before on controversial votes.

Sure...poaching and violence are going to go up because a woman can have a handgun in her purse or backpack when she's miles from anywhere? Or a guy with a concealed carry permit can have a pistol in his glove compartment, as is legal in almost every state surrounding the park?

That's brilliant...bloody brilliant.
