Exhausted....

Posted by David Hardy · 6 February 2008 08:46 AM

Joe Olson, Clayton Cramer and I got the Academics for the 2nd Amendment amicus brief off to the printer in advance of the deadline, now awaiting the page proofs. That's why I haven't been blogging much. That and a trip to the SHOT Show to try to convince mfrs that they should include copies of the documentary in their boxes. Not a lot of sleep in the last week.

UPDATE: SHOT Show was OK. Talked to a bunch of mfrs about the idea. The smaller ones seemed interested, larger ones not so much. Oh, well. One safe mfr was very interested, tho.

Many thanks to you and all those that work hard to defend our freedoms.

Dave, you are an inspiration. Thank You for all you do and have done. How did things go at the SHOT SHOW?

You're exhausted! Sometimes, that's a good thing.

But you're also more than "excused" from your blogging!

Many thanks for all your efforts, David. I've read Gura's brief and think this is going to be a great case.

I just read a press release from a Missouri Congresswoman, who notes she signed on to a brief, filed on behalf of Heller...by more than ONE HUNDRED members of the Congress. Only 18 signed on to the brief in support of firearm prohibition.

All the best...

Carl, would you please post a link to the Congresswoman's press release. Jo Ann Emerson is the only female in the Missouri congressional delegation so it must be her. I just checked her website and it's not up there yet. Also, do you have the names of the other Reps who've signed on and who's amici is it? Thanks.

To David, Joe and Clayton I extend my sincerest thanks and gratitude. It's heartening to find men still in this country with steel in their spine, deep convictions and sound intellect. We are all, indeed, in your debt. God's speed and here's to Monday next and the presentation of your brief. Slainte and tiocfaidh ar la (that's Irish Gaelic for "Cheers and our day will come").

Greg:

Certainly. You are correct, she is Jo Ann Emerson, US Representative from southwestern Missouri, 8th District.

Regarding the gun makers, the standard corporate rule applies. The bigger they are, the less willing and likely they are to take any kind of risk or do anything that looks out of the ordinary.

"Include a pro-individual rights 2nd Amendment DVD with every gun we sell? Gosh, I dunno Chet, we might offend somebody who believes in the collectivist interpretation."

I bet Ronnie Barrett would think seriously about it.

Gentlemen,

JoAnn Emerson is actually from SouthEASTERN Missouri, District 8. She's my Representative, and I know her. She's been good as far as this issue goes.
