A few embarassing moments...

Posted by David Hardy · 9 February 2008 05:48 PM

California Senate President Don Perata, "a leading control advocate," has announced he's turning in a handgun to a gun-buyback. Won't say whether it's his only handgun, either.

And former Broward County Sheriff Ken Jenne was sentenced to a year in the slammer , and now has lost his pension, for tax evasion ... specifically, not paying taxes on bribes. Quite a downfall for a Brady Campaign stalwart. Hat tip to Eric Schultz...

Perata has been under investigation by the FBI for receiving illegal payments from lobbyists since late 2005.

I went to Perata's buyback on Saturday. Most disorganized event I have seen in years. There were many, many people there anxious to give up thier old guns (you know the kind, mostly rusty), for $250. What a deal.

Broward county has long been a cesspool under his corrupt leadership. Pretty much every story of police brutality, sloppily executed warrants or police getting shot by criminals in FL seems to come out of Broward County.

Man, everything really does cost more in California. You'd never get $250 at a "buyback" out here.

Broward County produced votes in the primary of 109% of the registered population of voters, of all parties.

Methinks the Sherriff is only part of the problems there.

Perata just was carjacked by a man with a gun. He was a good victim and gave up his ride without a fight. Said everything he knew about gun-control was reproven to him by the incident. Such stupidity in no small way is a reason a good reform idea on term limits was shot down as it would have extended his term in the CA Senate another 4 years. People want the man GONE. He is a slug.

Perata is a no-account thug and low-class turd. The carjacking was of his new ('06), RED, gubb'mint-issue, Dodge Charger - driving around Richmond/Oakland in such a vehicle is an invitation like shouting-out "Steal Me!" and waving money out the window. Sheesh.

Posted by: DirtCrashr at February 11, 2008 09:50 AM

Oh yeh, Autoblog reports that it was targeted because it was an '06 Candy Apple red Charger with 22-inch chrome rims.
How'd he get the Gubb'mint to issue him one of dose?

Posted by: DirtCrashr at February 11, 2008 09:56 AM

perata gets away with it because of the golden rule...

who ever has the gold... makes the rules.
