More on the lady who stopped the New Hope Church killer

Posted by David Hardy · 10 December 2007 05:27 PM

Story here. Yep, she was a church member with a CCW who volunteered to help with security.

More in the Denver Post. The witness says there were at least two other armed male church-goers who drew, but froze up. She didn't. A good shot and a cool head. And much better to look at than most of us gunnies.

i hope she gets a fair amount of press. She saved many lives.

Clayton Cramer reminds us that it used to be (in colonial times) required to come to church armed. Turns out that churches were prime targets for native attacks, especially when the members left their guns at home. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

She did a fantastic job and she will be getting press.

Since she was a former Police officer, she has the appropriate association with the government as far as the MSM is concerned.

It's the New Life Church...not New Hope...and she is a bonafide hero...not everyone has the intestinal fortitude to engage a rifleman with just a pistol, or has been trained to go toward the sound of shots fired. She was apparently a former LEO from Minnesota, now a civilian who volunteered after the report of shootings at a related missionary training center in Arvada, an hour up the road.

Wonder if my pastor has made similar plans? I carry to church, regardless of permission.

Last report from CSPD is the perp was carrying 1000 rounds of ammo, one rifle and two pistols...wonder what he had in mind? (/sarcasm off)

She won't get a lot of press. It will die out rather quickly. she isn't an authorized "Only One".

Unfortunately, she didn't get the press she deserved because I've only just heard of this. My prayers go out to those who lost loved ones in this shooting.

She did an excellent job. Thank God she was there.
