I like Fred Thompson more by the minute

Now he's wandering around gun shows, and wishing he had more time and money to spend there.

Eh... that's almost getting to the point where I feel like lips might be chafing a bit too hard on my ass. Of course, Fred can at least pull off the gun show thing. It would be absolutely laughable with the other two boobs who are leading the race.

This isn't Fred's first gun show, nor will it be his last. He's been shooting for fun all his life and is not likely to change, unlike some candidates who only recently converted and seem to think the 2nd is about hunting.

Yeah, but methinks Rudy is close to being inevitable on the GOP side.

Yeah, but methinks Rudy is close to being inevitable on the GOP side.

If such an attitude prevails in the next few months, he will be. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. I hope we as gun owners don't just roll over and take what the establishment tells us is the best choice. We'll see how it goes, I guess.

The primaries will tell, won't they?

And, just for the record, I don't reside in an early primary state. So, by the time my piss-ant state votes, it will be all over but the shouting.

I'm in the same boat as Leftalis. Pennsylvania's primary is a formality at this point.

Fred has my vote.

I would never vote for anyone who does not fully support my right to keep and bear arms.

That is always my first issue.

Every other issue trails distantly behind it in importance.

None of the other candidates who are gathering any media attention--except for Ron Paul(I don't count any Democrats as candidates)--are showing me that they understand or care about the Second Amendment.

Not Giuliani, not Romney--no one.

Thompson is my pick based on what I know so far.

I plan to vote for Ron Paul even though he doesn't support the Iraq war. Don't fall in love with any politician, you'll just get your heart broke.

Posted by: The Mechanic at November 26, 2007 10:18 AM

Dr. Ron Paul has publicly supported the 2nd Amendment as well as the rest of the constitution for several decades. He is the only member of congress who has demonstrated the intestinal fortitude and ethics to stand by the constitution year after year. Even when he was the only one to do so in spite of ridicule.

With any of the rest[ Dem or GOP ] we'll just end up with a business as usual president who'll have no qualms in selling our gun rights, along with all our other rights, down the sewer as soon as somebody with the money shows up.
