I really don't understand the mentality of the majority of people in California. When are we going to wake up and stop electing these dildo's to office?
We need to flood the Governors office with letters, phone calls and emails exposing this for what it really is; which is bullshit.

California should split in half. I feel sorry for a few of my friends who live in the north.

Kali is more complicated than just north versus south. If you look at the voting on a county by county basis, it is actually more of a few "uber liberal urban coastal counties versus everyone else" issue.
It just so happens that those few coastal urban counties are so heavily populated that they outvote the rest of the state. In fact, the largest number of GOP voters in the US is trapped in Kali, and for purposes of the Presidential election they usually don't count for squat.

Actually, the other factor here is the obscene gerrymandering of legislative districts.
I used to live in the San Jose area, and we were moved three times from district to district...the purpose being to split a fairly Republican area into slivers, with long tails reaching into strongly Democrat areas. All this made it impossible to have any real hope of electing a Republican to the state Assembly, which is the source of most of this garbage.
There are more registered Democrats in the state than registered Republicans, but the results would be far more balanced if we can ever force a fair redistricting.
In the meantime, we're governed by idiots....

Gerrymandering, in general, is a national disgrace and the courts have declined to do one bloody thing about it. Both Dems and GOP'ers have a vested interest in drawing the districts that protect current incumbents; any other factor is not even considered.

... And neither of those bills are scientifically documented to do a damnable thing. In fact, all evidence indicates the microstamping bill is worse than useless.
I love living in the People's Republic of Kalifornistan.

You've probably never heard it out your way, but in my area, there is a weekly radio show done by a local guy, and his theme song is this:
"Home will always be Virginia,
between the Blue Ridge and Chesapeake Bay.
Atlantic to Appalachia,
home in my heart always."
I'd love to see someone introduce such legislation here. He'd practically get laughed out of the Senate, I think. Yeah, there are a few legislators who would be sympathetic, but even many of the Dems here are relatively pro-2A, compared to the U.S. Congress.
There are many reasons I moved out of NJ after having been born there and lived there for 35 years. The gun thing was not a main motivator, but boy, it sure didn't hurt in convincing me to get out of there.
